Battle of the Crimson Crossing
The Battle of the Crimson Crossing was fought around a ford at the southern edge of the Ironheart Mountains ten years ago. The bloodiest battle in all of history, it is estimated that no more than one in ten of combatants survived. The bodies of the thousands of dead still litter meadow, forest and swamp.
The battle marked the end of a war in which all major principalities of the continent became embroiled. The objectives of the various factions were a tangle that is still being attempted to unravel today. The choice of Crimson Crossing as the field of battle remains a mystery: the region appears geopolitically inconsequential, and it didn’t even have any settlements until after the battle.
