A fast-flowing, remarkably clear-watered river that stretches the length of Lancomb Valley, from the springs of the Ironheart Mountains, past Blackhall, and finally letting into the Greysquall Sea at Leawick. The water is fresh and cold up to near Blackhall, where the city slightly mars its purity.
Although quick of current, the river hasn’t dug very deeply into the rocky terrain, and fording places are fairly frequent throughout its length. However, the river floods very heavily during the spring, as the heavy snow on the mountains melts. At that time the river is impossible to cross except by boat or the bridges at Blackhall and Leawick.
According to folklore the water has curative properties, especially toward the the springs that feed it. Some claim the Well of All Heals is hidden somewhere there and contributes to the Crystalflood.
